Prime Lens!

Alright, back from a crazy 30 hours coding competition. Didn't win anything though. The organiser for this competition sucks, we opted for Preliminary Judging but end up he forgotten about us due to poor time management.

Didn't sleep much, only about 4 hours I think and I have a stiff neck now. Didn't even have the chance to go home to bathe and sleep.

Just glad that it's all and the seal points are in the bank.

After the competition, I went down to Ang Mo Kio to pick up a new lens! Sony 50mm f1.8!

Quite a powerful lens, a step up from my kit lens. I was considering a telephoto or this. Hopefully, I can do more with this lens compared to my kit lens and not regret about it.

Now to think of new locations to shoot at, one thing great about this lens - I can now shoot indoors without the use of flash! Oh yeah, this lens cost me $195 + $11 for a new filter.

I'm getting more into the Sony system now, at first when I got my set, I was quite skeptical as most people use Canon or Nikon. But now, after reading so many Sony user's reasons and pictures, I think Sony is up there with Canon and Nikon.

Firstly, most people don't know that Sony is the continuation of Minolta - the latter has always been a first for everything in the digital imaging scene.

Second, trinity lens - For sony's trinity, they are using Carl Zeiss optics and who hasn't heard of them?

Third, built in stabilisation - All prime lens are now IS/VR.

Fourth, Minolta Lens - Great colours from old lens and at a knocked down price.

Now, I'll be saving up for my next lens - a telephoto and also to upgrade to a A700.

So here is a sample shot for my prime lens to show off the bokeh, I did some curve adjustments in Photoshop though.

That's all for now, I'll be praying that I get to use my prime lens fully anytime from now!
